Adrian Taylor

Creative Director

Prior to co-founding Aawen in 1999, Adrian worked for leading advertising and marketing companies in Cheltenham and Plymouth, creating literature, packaging and advertising designs for many blue chip companies. Working on project for clients such as Apple Computers, United Biscuits, Smiths/Walkers Crisps, Schweppes Beverages and Bulmers Ciders, has enablied Adrian to experience design at both ends of the resource spectrum and therefore helped him tailor his design output to suit the different requirements, in budget and deadline that these extremes of market demand.

Adrians current role at Aawen is to help develop the business through marketing, new sales and financial mesures as well as keeping involved in the companies creative output via project management, creative supervision and some hands-on design projects he finds hard to let go of!

Adrian is an active member of various creative and business groups - such as Cornwall Design Forum, DOTT Cornwall, West Cornwall Business Network, Truro Chamber of Commerce, BNI and Cornwall Chamber and hopes to get more involved in these and other groups over the coming months - if he can find a few more hours in the day!

Adrian graduated from Gloucestershire University in 1990 with a HND in Design For Electronic Media, having previously completed courses in Foundation Art and Design (Rochdale College of Art) and Advertising Design (Oldham College)

He then worked at two leading design firms in Cheltenham, creating literature, packaging and advertising designs for many blue chip companies such as Apple Computers, United Biscuits, Smiths/Walkers Crisps, Gulf Oil, Schweppes Beverages and Bulmers Ciders. This prestigious work early in his career has enabled Adrian to experience design at both ends of the resource spectrum and therefore helped him tailor his design output to suit the different requirements, in budget and deadline that these extremes of market demand.

Adrian relocated to Cornwall in 1992 and joined a Plymouth advertising agency to work on design and promotional projects for many organisations including Theatre Royal, Plymouth Pavillions, Tay Homes and Fairway Furniture. In 1994, Adrian became the Studio Manager at a Cornish print company to work on and manage his design team on projects for companies such as The Carnegie Club, Royal Navy, Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions, Crealy Adventure Park, Devon Association of Tourist Attractions, National Trust, BOC, Pendennis Shipyard, Farm and Cottage Holidays to name but a few.

In December 1999, Adrian co-founded Aawen Design Studio alongside Jonathan Statham and has built the business through their creative design solutions, into the respected and established agency it is today.

Adrian's current role at Aawen is to help develop the business through marketing, new sales and financial measures as well as keeping involved in the companies creative output via project management, creative supervision and some hands-on design projects he finds hard to let go of!

This role in business development naturally involves a lot of natter and as such Ade is a frequent contributer to the Aawen Blog and he can be heard here on audio boo discussing the Business Network International.

Adrian is an active member of various creative and business groups - such as Cornwall Design Forum, Truro Chamber of Commerce, Business Network International, Business in the Community (Pro-Help Scheme) and Cornwall Chamber.
